China: May

China: 2 - 18 May 2018

Introducing our 14th tour to China.

China has over the years proved to be a most popular destination, on account of its ancient civilization, which continues to be very much in the news.  This amazing country has shown rapid economic progress over the years, and is now the world’s 2nd biggest economy.  We have over the last 20-odd years witnessed the country’s conversion from its old Communistic ways to Capitalist traditions, and in the process has overnight become a “Super Power”.

We will spend one night in Hong Kong, before flying to Guilin on the Mainland for the start of our Chinese experience. This will include a boat cruise along the tranquil waters of the beautiful Li River, a visit to the Terracotta Worriers from the 3rd Century, just outside Xi’an.  We spend time in the major metropolis of Chongqing, followed by a relaxing 3-day cruise along the Yangtze River, including witnessing the Three Gorges Dam.  We come off the boat at Yichang, before proceeding to the commercial heartland of the country, Shanghai before spending time in the Chinese political capital, Beijing..
